Combat Contracts

Post by zerome1221 »

So me and a friend have been trying to do contracts that say estimated enemy fighters 4. We manage to usually kill two or three each time the main issue is, I understand it says ESTIMATED but every time we jump in its 5 then two minutes into the fight three more or so show up, another minute or two another two. We have yet to complete a simple, eliminate the enemies because as we fight so many more just keep jumping in. Is this supposed to happen? Do they call reinforcements if we don't kill them fast enough?

This same thing happens when we fight random enemies out in space. We try to fight the three that are there then five more jump in partway through and the fight never ends.

Yep, thats the way it is. As you said the longer you take the more of their backups show up.

The navy is ever optimistic in its estimates. Either that, or they don't spend a lot on intel.
Life is an illusion. Only shooting red things is real.

 Most contracts specify the number of Reds you need to kill. After you've destoyed that amount (be they the original Reds or those who show up as reinforcements), you'll get a chat message saying the contract is complete. An exception to this is if you take an Ace contract ... if that's the situation, then you need to kill the Ace (no substitutes). Also, for escort contracts, don't believe what Intel tells you. Expect a worst-case scenario.

Hi Zerome1221, welcome to the game and forum...Hope to see you out there some time!....;)

Also make sure you only kill the Red Rebbels and the Red Guilds
eventhough killing any number of reds required for the contract will complete the contract but shooting at the Red Navy, Energy and Miners will attrack more Navy Reinforcement specially Navy Battle forces!.....Do not make the Navy more Angry unless you wan't to fight huge battles.....;):P:P:P:P:P:cool:

-Possible spoilers-
Depends what you consider a spoiler. =P

I was not aware that the Navy would jump in as red during the fights. I just kept fighting without care of who I was fighting, never once checked. Also, I saw a video of a person with a missile that they used over and over, where can I get that, 8 missiles just isn't enough.

The mislile pack is called the Excalibur which shoots eigth regenerative missiles at a time but with a regenarative time to reload of 3 minutes which can be a long time in big battles with many enemy forces. The other Advantage is its high speed of 1800 highest of all missiles. Disadvantage is its low yield of 800 lowest of all missiles and its 3 minutes wait time before you can fire another Salvo!....;)

Ah, is that purchasable or do I have to find it? Does it use all your missile slots or just one? The video I saw looked like only one slot but he held no other missiles. Thanks for the responses BTW.

Oh yeah, another question I thought about just now because it happened again. I go to Olympus prime to do combat contracts usually but the Navy is at about 50% for reputation so I was hoping to get that up but every time I go there a hostile navy or energy ship on occasion will attack me. I flee and head back to sapphire to get away. It just annoys me now because I don't know how to get the reputation up when I can't do contracts in that sector without being attacked by them.

The Excalibur pack you can purchase, you might be able to find a hidden container having them but I have never found one!

Once you get your reputation up with any faction past 50% that factions hostility towards you should be diminished drastically. The fastest way to up your reputation with the Navy is to do contracts for them and/or just killing every Rebbel which includes destroying Rebbels. 1% increase for every waypoint and 1% for every 10 Rebbels killed.....;)

Alrighty, that helps quite a bit I will just fly about killing rebels. What if the rebels are not hostile to me and I attack them near a space station? Also, is there no way to increase reputation at a different sector than the one you are doing contracts in? Like doing navy contracts at Sapphire but the news travels and increases reputation slightly in another sector?
