Simple mod request: Smaller cursor

Hey. I was originally going to post this in the main board for Legends, but I hope the mod community can help. That meatloaf sized cursor in menus drives me nuts! Is there any way to make it smaller?

A customized cursor is fairly easy to do. Pull the targeting cursor (point4 and targetshadow7) from the kit's HUD folder, reduce its size a bit, and use it to replace the map cursor (point4console and point4cshadow). Best part is, you can then target a city more accurately.

I understand that stuff, but what I mean is the cursor that appears in the shipyard and main menu. I can replace that similarly, but where do I put the assets when I want to replace them? Just in the game directory?

Yep, if you do not have a HUD folder in the game directory then you need to make a copy of the HUD folder and make the modifications in the copy and move the modified copy of the HUD folder to the Games directory... I believe...

Yup. That.

Most of the generic stuff is evidently hard-coded ('cause individual default graphic files are nowhere to be found) but can be overridden using folders. For most of the cursors, you override the originals by placing modded cursors inside a folder, calling the folder "hud" ... and sticking the folder in the main directory.

To restore the game to its default graphics, simply remove the folder.

Never thought about it but modding the cursor helped a lot. I now have a skinny rocket ship instead of the ;)bloated one (lol).

I'm thinking that perhaps a crosshair or just a plain old cursor would help in general. As soon as I manage to kick my sister off of my computer, I'll give it a shot.

The targeting cursor is a crosshair ... a fact that dawned on me after spending a couple hours trying to design my own. But, if you adopt it, you'll need to reduce its size ... for some reason, the cursor in the customizing kit looks really big when placed in the "hud" folder and used in the game.

For some reason, the cockpit turns white, as do the menu buttons up top when I just replace the cursor files. Why is that?

I put the whole customization pack's HUD folder in the main directory instead of just the cursor that I wanted.
