The last ship I was making left with my computer, so it'll never get finished, but I had a cool idea for a new ship whilst stuck in training the other day.
This ship is based off of a funky paper airplane I was messing with.
The goal is to make it look fast and designed solely for punching through atmospheres; It's nearly skeletal at the rear, mostly engines, and has an aerodynamic design toward the front.
The first model is going to be a capital ship, but I like the idea of flying this design as a military ship too, so I'll retool the model later (ie squash and add cockpit).
The colors are just part of my texturing process, they'll change.
AND, because Vice just let me know that the next Evochron supports Specular and Normal mapping, this ship's gonna have them.

Getting the bump map going on big time, and thinking about surface treatments. Still looking a bit plain toward the front though.
Any thoughts?
PS anyone know how to put in a specular map in Maya
